STARTERSPaul Gardner of Soccer America reacts to the horrible tackles that broke the legs of 2 of MLS's brightest attackers this weekend - Steve Zakuani and David Ferreira.-While I don't ever agree with Gardner 100% on anything, his anger at the aggression of these fouls is right on the money. It must not be tolerated. (Gardner's intolerance of the English game is tiresome though.)Zakuani of Seattle had his right leg severely broken just above the ankle and will need surgery keeping him out at least 8-10 months.Ferreira of Dallas, and last seasons MVP, had his right ankle fractured in 2 places and will also require surgery. His timeline is yet to be determined, but it won't be short.The tackle by Colorado midfielder Brian Mullen Zakuani was inexcusable. Jon Leathers who took out Ferreira was only slightly less egregious. Mullen deserves a stiff penalty.STORY OF THE DAYSupport your local professional soccer team in America. Its that simple.
