Not too surprisingly, US Soccer President Sunil Gulati says he made absolutely no comments to Mexican tabloid newspaper La Opinion about hiring Jose Pekerman. The newspaper quoted Gulati as saying they offered the Pek a deal. He says there is no truth to that what so ever. I would tend to believe Gulati 100% of the time over a newspaper that says Zidane is going to play in MLS next year.~ ~ ~ ~The two groups for next summers MLS v FMF Superliga tournament have been announced. No other details that I can find on actual format. Word has it that the MSL teams were picked as US Open Cup finalists (Chicago & Los Angeles), and MLS regular season conference champions (DC United & FC Dallas). Somehow leaving MLS Cup finalists Houston & New England on the outs.
