Kyle Rote Jr.
The son of a New York Giants football star, Kyle Rote Jr. was the NASL's Rookie of the Year and leading scorer in 1973 with the Dallas Tornado. He became far better known for winning ABC's Superstars competition three times, in 1974, 1976 and 1977, beating the best-paid athletes in American sports on national television.
