-Business Disaster In DC. The deal for Global Partners, led by team President Kevin Payne, to buy DC United from AEG has fallen apart, and is now officially off, "by mutual decision." Steve Goff of the Washington Post has the story. This has other repercussions beyond just a new ownership group for the team, as Global were seen as the people who were going to build the new stadium using their real estate project knowledge. And taking it one step further, Global was also recently picked by the Milwaukee group to try and build a stadium with them.
