The USA loses to England 2-0. Well, we can't say this is a surprising result. The USA lost to a better team. Period. Hey, it's only a Friendly. We'll get over it.I watched the game with Harry Williams and Dita Niyogi of The Texas Fair Defense Project. And speaking of fair defense, I thought the USA's was fairly good. Pearce, Bocanegra, Onyewu, and Cherundolo played a solid game. The problem was that when the defense cleared the ball, our midfielders and forwards usually couldn't hold it.England's first goal resulted from a needless foul by Ricardo Clark. Clark tripped Wes Brown after Beasley had already won the ball. But let's not blame any one player for the loss. The whole team has a lot of work to do if they want to get to the level of a team like England. We'll get there, some day.Fortunately, there is some good news for American soccer today. DC United desperately needs a new stadium, and the D.C. City Council seems to be inclined to help the team finance it. Let's all hope that works out.At half time E
