United Soccer Association

The United Soccer Association had FIFA's blessing but no players of its own. For its only season, the summer of 1967, it imported twelve whole clubs from Europe and South America and had each one play under the name of an American or Canadian city. That winter it merged with the rival National Professional Soccer League to form the NASL.
